Top and above: the impressive new Maina factory in Fossano, designed by Cuneo-based architect Gianni Arnaudo. Its energy production plant, created by Viessmann, is fully compliant with the emission guidelines issued by the Piedmont Region. The plant has received TEE certification (white certificate) in recognition of its high-performance cogeneration equipment, which has enabled further savings on production costs

The ability of Viessmann to satisfy the requirements of every specific project is also demonstrated by the recent renovation and expansion of the 4,000 sq m production factory that belongs to confectionery company Maina in Fossano (Cuneo, Italy). The project, which was commissioned to architect Gianni Arnaudo, coincided with the renewal of the company’s energy production technology.

Above and below: Inside the Maina plant, which was opened following a renovation that lasted around one and a half years and was the result of an over 20 million euro investment plan. The upgrade of the line with a new automated plant supported by Viessmann technology will enable an increase in production capacity of around 30% in order to meet increasing demand from the Italian and international markets

The existing installations were integrated with a hot water and steam generating system, consisting of a Vitobloc 200 EM 530/660 cogenerator and a special 400 kg/h at 6 bar Vitomax AHK steam recovery boiler. The new equipment can simultaneously produce electricity, hot water and steam, meeting the heating and heat generation needs of the whole production facility. Managed via the ASPEC smart system (Albasystem), the plant optimizes the processes of using electrothermal, water and steam energy, adapting them to the needs of the production cycle and maximizing the overall yield.
