The owners of a plot in Dobříš, Czech Republic, wanted a house with no angles and in solidarity with the forest behind its back, so Mimosa Architekti built a fluid building covered with larch shakes. With the participation of Videbæk local community, Erik Brandt Dam architects and Cornelius+Vöge have renovated an abandoned school to create a civic center. Renzo Piano Building Workshop designed an art pavilion in Le Puy Ste Réparade, France, carving a 6 meters deep valley in the earth so as to fully incorporate the building into the vineyard.

With great sobriety and formal restraint the white building designed by Alberto Campo Baeza in Pozuelo de Alarcón houses a sports center and a classroom complex.

On the quiet banks of the river Leie, Ghent, Flemish studio Govaert & Vanhoutte Architects designed a single family house for an oldtimer enthusiast, bringing back a luxurious and leisure Mid-Century style. The Unesco site of the Songshan Mountain, in Central China, is home to the Shaolin Monastery and is the place where Mailitis Architects designed a theatre focused on flying performances. To renew a historical building in Taipei, B+P Architects designed a free-standing structure that is detached with the existing wall and introduces the idea of “structure as furniture”.

Heneghan Peng Architects designed a museum for shaping and communicating knowledge about Palestinian history, embedding the building into its immediate site. Chilean architect Cristián Izquierdo realised a wooden vacation house whose rooms are private spaces connected to the outside by a row of portals framing the horizon. Renovated by Vector Architects in the Huangqi Peninsula, in China, the house features a vault that connects two sides of sea landscape with dramatically different traits. The eco-villaggio in Senegal designed by TAMassociati will become a symbol of eco-modernity, proportioned to the technical, managerial, and agricultural self-sufficiency of local communities.
