Uno strato massiccio di canna palustre definisce il tetto del centro visitatori disegnato da Dorte Mandrup per il Wadden Sea Centre a Ribe, in Danimarca, una località protetta dall’UNESCO per il particolare habitat che ospita gli uccelli migratori. Le canne reperite in loco e usate per il tetto esprimono un legame diretto con il sito. L’edificio è stato completato nel 2017 e sta per raggiungere il suo primo anno di vita. Amos Rex Museum di JKMM
In una piazza a Helsinki, in Finlandia, cinque protuberanze tentacolari si allungano in direzioni opposte per incanalare la luce nell’estensione del museo d’arte Amos Rex. Saya Park di Álvaro Siza e Carlos Castanheira
Un trio di edifici di cemento – un centro per l’arte, una cappella e una torre di osservazione – si fondono nella densa vegetazine del Saya Park in Corea del Sud. Con una rampa sul tetto, il centro per l’arte si protende verso le colline intorno offrendo ai visitatori una vista mozzafiato sul paesaggio boschivo.

Torre Fondazione Prada di OMA
Nata da una distilleria del ’900 in un’area poco costruita di Milano, la Torre di OMA si ritaglia un profilo insolito tra gli edifici industriali che circondano Fondazione Prada. Un ascensore in vetro conduce i visitatori a un bar sul tetto che offre una vista sui binari ferroviari e sulla città.
