La grande mostra della collezione privata di Christo e Jeanne-Claude

Svelando molte opere inedite, la mostra celebra la coppia che ha affascinato il mondo con i grandiosi wrapping di monumenti iconici e luoghi di interesse paesaggistico.

La Hexton Gallery, in collaborazione con l’Aspen Institute e la Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation, lancerà un programma della durata di un anno dedicato all’impatto pionieristico dei due artisti sull’arte ambientale, celebrando in particolar modo il 50° anniversario del loro progetto del 1972 “Valley Curtain”, a Rifle, in Colorado.

“Christo and Jeanne-Claude: Ephemeral Nature” – questo il titolo della mostra – sarà la  loro prima grande mostra negli Stati Uniti e, inoltre, una delle più grandi degli ultimi dieci anni in America. Al suo interno verrano esposte molte opere inedite della collezione privata degli artisti, con disegni originali, collage e oggetti incartati della loro collezione privata. La mostra ripercorre sei dei più importanti progetti ambientali messi in scena o proposti negli Stati Uniti.

Bob Chase, proprietario della Hexton Gallery, ha dichiarato: “L’eredità di Christo e Jeanne-Claude in Colorado è incredibilmente significativa per noi come galleria Aspen e ha profonde radici nella comunità. Qui sono stati concepiti due grandi progetti, ‘Valley Curtain’ e ‘Over The River’, e l’Aspen si trova quasi direttamente tra questi due siti”.
