Collegato all’abitazione della ceramista Vera Stoefs attraverso un ballatoio in ferro, il nuovo padiglione disegnato da Lava Architecten è stato concepito come uno spazio di lavoro compatto investito dalla luce naturale grazie alla presenza di ampie finestre a nastro. Articolato su due livelli, presenta al pian terreno un ambiente attrezzato per la produzione e al primo piano un ufficio pensato come spazio per la progettazione.

All’esterno, il rivestimento in scandole d’ardesia non opera solo in continuità con uno stilema dell’architettura locale, ma si relaziona felicemente con i mattoni rossi della casa antistante in un dialogo tra texture. All’interno, la vocazione all’utilizzo di materiali naturali rimane dominante, pur arricchendosi dal contrasto scaturito con elementi in cemento lasciato a vista.
