Connected to the home of ceramist Vera Stoefs through an iron walkway, the new pavilion designed by Lava Architecten has been conceived as a compact workspace where large ribbon windows help conveying abundant natural light. Articulated on two levels, it presents in the basement a room equipped for production and on the first floor an office destined to design activities.
The pavilion for ceramic of a Belgian artist
Perched on a soft slope, the extension conceived by Lava Architecten features a studio overlooking the surrounding environment and dominated by natural materials.

On the outside, the slate shingle cladding not only works in continuity with a local architectural style, but happily relates to the red bricks of the next-door house, creating a dialogue between textures. Inside, the use of natural materials remains dominant, although it is enriched by the contrast created with exposed concrete elements.
