People are investing more than ever before in campers and tiny homes, also due to pandemic and thanks to the normalization of remote working. To answer to the request of this generation of urban nomads a designer conceived “Volvo, The Local Project”.

The project is composed by two elements: a light edition camper van – ideally a Volvo –; and a shared cabin network meant to be set up at different locations. The Local Project aims to make possible a balanced life between urban and rural life.

The camper has a luxurious double bed at the back that can conveniently flip to create an office space. This is a single room on wheels – “embodying the Volvo mission of freedom to move” – but it keeps the inhabitants connected to the city even if they move from home to a Local Project cabin in the middle of nature.
