The international airport in Beijing by Zaha Hadid, unveiled yesterday in the presence of the Chinese leader Xi Jinping, opens to the public after less than five years of construction. Looking like a giant spaceship provided with six arms, the Chinese infrastructure occupies an area of 700,000 sqm. Considered the largest airport in the world, the building is estimated to handle 45 million passengers by 2021, 72 million passengers by 2025, 100 million by 2040.
