During the 2013 Stockholm Furniture Fair, Italian designer Luca Nichetto presents Plantrellis, a collection of outdoor furnishings for Swedish manufacturer Berga.
Plantrellis is a modular, customisable collection comprising three concrete planters and three metal trellises, which serve as a support for climbing plants. "The main inspiration for Plantrellis is precisely the possibility of creating a horizon in which decoration is given by the plants themselves," states Nichetto.
The planters can be used as single units, with or without the trellis, to create and delineate spaces much like the movable walls seen in contemporary open spaces.
The three different sized trellises can be fixed inside
the planters individually, or creating several layers within the same container. The trellises can also be used separately, set against a wall or planted directly in the ground.
