New York-based studio Dror will unveil his first
collaboration with Cappellini, the Peacock Chair and the
Volume.MGX lamp at Design Miami.
Dror redlines Cappellini
In this one of a kind, Dror took the very first pre-
production prototype Peacock chair from Cappellini and
reset it as an open canvas by painting it white, allowing
him to redline the imperfections of the chair that need to
be realized for the final production piece.
Hand drawn by Dror Benshetrit.
Materials: Gesso and acrylic on 100% wool with a metal
frame.
Volume.MGX
Dror applied his squared square geometry to one flat, 3d,
sls print of interlocking squares. When illuminated, the
beauty of the complexity of the shape is highlighted
through the various effects the light has on the hundreds of
squares that make up the collapsible form. The light is
diffused in a way that gives the structure a bright, warm
glow in the center, which gradually fades into cooler,
darker shades on the edges and corners of the cube.
