To celebrate Alessandro Mendini, the Groninger Museum will host an exhibition on the Italian designer on show from 12 October 2019 through 5 May 2020. Mondo Mendini – the World of Alessandro Mendini is an exhibition originally designed by Mendini for the Dutch institution including more than 200 pieces. Among them, a three-metre-high version of Poltrona di Proust and Anna G, the dancer-shaped corkscrew for Alessi, along with other objects from his large collection, including jewellery, architectural models and sculptures. On display also are the works by other artists and designers who inpired him, such as Paul Signac, Wassily Kandinsky, Henri Matisse and Oskar Schlemmer, and objects by Italian designers Gio Ponti, Michele De Lucchi and Gaetano Pesce. Along with this exhibition, for its 25th anniversary, the Groninger Museum will held events and festivities.
