Passo, the Swiss watch by Odoardo Fioravanti

Passo Watch, designed by Odoardo Fioravanti and launched on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform (kickstarter.passowatch.com), is just a few hours old. Its name embodies the project’s history: Passo is the unit of measurement of a mechanism as well as a mountain pass. In particular, here it is the Alps that unite Italy, where the timepiece is designed, with Switzerland, where it is produced to the classic canons of watchmaking excellence by Guglielmo Paganin, a longtime professional in the field.

On his Instagram profile, the Italian designer and winner of the Compasso d'Oro jokes: "I’m tempted to say I'm proud of it.” At the presentation he became fervent in illustrating its most minute details: the hands with micropierced hours, the links of the bracelet, foldaway closure and the transparent case that makes the movement of the mechanism visible. Each element that makes up the clock has been designed, built and assembled by hand. Real enthusiasts can apply on Kickstarter to be present at this last step in the Swiss workshop.

  The Glacier model, with a particularly recessed dial evoking a valley floor, is available in 4 variants (Verra, Gorner, Vedretta and Seracco) and different finishes. The mechanism is an automatic Sellita SW 200 movement. The watch, a true collector’s piece, will be available at the advantageous conditions of the Kickstarter launch for 30 days.
