Design firm: Bardo
Project name: Macedonia
Location: Madrid, Spain
Area: 150 sqm
This Madrid flat is a constant source of visual inspiration, with no two colours or materials being used in the same way twice. Each element has a distinct character and blends into the space thanks to the softness of its rounded corners; indeed, all the built-in furniture features curved edges. The most original feature is the yellow acrylic cladding on a structural pillar and beam that define a kind of portal. As light passes through the transparent material, it takes on colour, lending the room a particular intensity. Similarly, the pink shower curtain casts reflections onto the curved bathroom wall clad in glossy white tiles, creating an effect reminiscent of Nanda Vigo’s work. The bespoke elements are complemented by furniture designed by renowned designers such as Louis Poulsen, Terje Ekstrøm and Gaetano Pesce.
