For the reconfiguration of a duplex apartment located in the heart of the Salamanca neighborhood in Madrid, Pulso Estudio and Ivette Berrondo worked on a luxurious domestic environment, with a contemporary yet classic character, generating a sequence of distinct spaces well defined by a few essential elements.

The living areas are arranged on the ground floor; living, dining room and kitchen in particular are conceived as autonomous but strongly connected spaces, made permeable by openings similar to stage wings. Indeed, the walls are almost entirely covered with custom-designed wood paneling and furniture, punctually interrupted where portals between rooms create views and passages. The presence of fabric paneling alternating with the wooden furniture stimulates the observer's gaze, suggesting a continuous change of materials albeit in the same color range as the oak, thus creating a playful visual digression, as well as defining the meeting point between the walls and the attachment of the ceiling vaults.

Each of the rooms is also equipped with characterizing elements, of a display nature: the kitchen island, which, except for the induction hob, is conceived for all intents and purposes as a marble-and-wood table; the oval dining table completed by a bench; the set of model 121 chairs by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and the chaise longue by Philippe Starck.

To amplify the concatenation between the rooms is the large spiral metal staircase, which turns out to be the true core of the house, attracting with centripetal force all spatial flows, while a key role is played by lighting design.
Studied down to the smallest detail, the lighting enriches the apartment with wall lights, table lamps and pendant lamps, iconic design pieces alternating with more contemporary ones that bring timeless elegance to the overall atmosphere.
