Spanish studio Vitale, with an industrial design background and a specialization in corporative design, tried to create through this project a new market position for the Hospital Veterinario del Mar in Castellón de la Plana, Spain.
The project of this 24h veterinary center includes not only the interior design, but also the study of the branding, with veterinary uniforms and logos included. The studio affirms that the main aim was to create a new image that would be different from the competitors, emphasizing the identity of a medical center rather than a “store”.
The 420 sqm space offers the same variety of a common hospital program, starting with specialized areas for the care and visit of felines, separated from those dedicated to dogs. The dog area has four examination rooms with direct access to the entrance area, a waiting room with a nutrition store, and services for animal owners. The feline area has the waiting room, nutrition store and examination rooms connected to a separate entrance area.
For the aesthetics of the common areas Vitale used marine colors with organic shapes and semi-transparent materials with a glossy texture. These blue waves run along the ceiling connecting the two different waiting rooms. The ceiling of the examination rooms with two-colored bands matches the vinyl floor, which also appears on the walls in those points where hygiene is essential.
