Past Present Future: video interview with Simone Sfriso (TAMassociati)

Past Present Future is a series of interviews by Gianpiero Venturini from Itinerant Office. Simone Sfriso is the ninth of the architects to be interviewed.

Active in social design internationally since the last millennium, TAMassociati combines a civil and professional commitment. The Venice-based studio conceives architecture as a service of common goods and capable of increasing the human social and environmental capital, while curbing marginalization and exclusion. The ninth instalment of the “Past Present Future” series is a conversation with Simone Sfriso, co-founder of TAMassociati.

Past

"What will remain is the public space... and intangible spaces; the space of dignity, the space of legallity, the space of inclusion. These are the spaces in which architects have to work."

Present

“We are still working on the social issues of architecture. Now, when you talk about social architecture, maybe it is on the first step of every agenda - but 20 years ago, it was a sort of bizarre idea.” “Past, Present, Future: About being an architect yesterday, today and beyond” is a series of video interviews conducted by Itinerant Office. Eleven internationally renowned architects have been asked to talk about their own past, present and future, exploring the figure of the architect and his or her role in contemporary society.
