Ellinikon’s residential buildings with organic terraces in Athens

314 Architecture Studio joins the rich cast of firms that will reshape the coast of the Greek capital city through an ambitious urban regeneration project.

Ellinikon, the planned “smart city” in Greece, set indide one of the largest coastal parks in Europe, has already disclosed the participation of firms such as Kengo Kuma and Associates, Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), Aedas, SAOTA and Oppenheim Architecture in the project. The news has followed the unveiling of the Riviera Tower designed by Foster and Partners in 2021, which will rise above the master plan as the tallest building in Greece and the tallest green skyscraper on the Mediterranean.

Adding to the cast of this ambitious urban regeneration project, 314 Architecture Studio recently unveiled its proposal for a plot of seven buildings of six stories each. Called Pavilion Terraces the architecture will be an example of innovation and sustainable living, according to the Greek firm.

The 156 terraces designed for Pavilion Terraces’ one- to five-bedroom apartments feature organic forms and glazed elevations. Ground-floor apartments feature private gardens offer residents direct access to nature, while top-floor apartments describe an open-space experience characterized by private roof gardens.

To meet the environmental requirements of the urban regeneration project, the residences will be built, according to design descriptions, from low-emission materials, also boasting electric vehicle charging facilities. Water consumption is reduced by efficient fixtures and irrigation systems, while solar panels contribute to energy efficiency.
