“The growth of crowdfunding could be depicted as an endless upward parabola. More now than ever, this is a widely used mode for funding collective projects”, points out Roberto Esposito, the CEO of DeRev Crowdfunding. The latter is an Italian platform specialized in donation and reward and created in 2013. “This is an industry that relies especially on the concept of trust because financiers do not know beneficiaries personally for the most of donations. If trust fails, many areas and projects will be deprived of the basic conditions for improvement and development”, Roberto Esposito goes on.
The projects submitted on the dedicated platforms are numerous, from technological gadgets to music albums, and many of them receive important economic aid in order to make them a reality and introduce them on the market. It is the case of Lukos – an ultrawide portable monitor designed for gaming enthusiasts and professionals – which has already collected more than 148,000 euros; or the portable vacuum cleaner EVO Cleaner that has gained the subscriptions of almost 5,000 supporters and that will arrive during next spring.
