Casio is bringing one of its most iconic digital watches back to life to celebrate Back to the Future’s 40th anniversary. The Japanese brand has unveiled a new edition of the model worn by Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) in the 1985 classic, reimagined with details inspired by the DeLorean time machine.
The original CA53W—a real product from the 1980s that remains on sale today—keeps its 8-digit calculator, stopwatch, and alarm. The new anniversary version, named CA-500WEBF-1A, adds metallic components and graphics referencing the film’s “time circuits.”

Delivered in a VHS-shaped box, the watch features a resin case, stainless-steel self-adjusting strap, and LCD display showing the iconic OUTATIME license plate. On the case back, Casio engraved the flux capacitor—the fictional device that powers time travel. It’s water-resistant and powered by a CR2016 battery with an estimated five-year lifespan.

Preorders for the CA-500WEBF-1A open on October 21 at €119, the same day Back to the Future returns to cinemas in a restored edition.
