This is what a Bauhaus air purifier would look like

A colourful concept applies the German school’s design principles to a common 21st-century home appliance.

The design principles of Bauhaus inspired industrial designers for decades and still do today. We see elements of the school’s design philosophy in many electronic devices we use daily, like those designed by Apple.

A new concept developed by Keereem Lee pays a direct tribute to the movement’s aesthetic with a Bauhaus-inspired air purifier.

The lines and shapes, the overlayed rectangles and circles, and the clever use of negative space remind us of the famous poster for the 1923 Bauhaus Exhibition in Weimar by Joost Schmidt. Moreover, in the top left corner, the vertical Bauhaus branding takes direct inspiration from the actual Bauhaus school building in Dessau, the most recent location of the German design school.
