Five new images anticipate Studio Ghibli’s upcoming theme park in Japan

Opening in autumn 2022, the park will be based on the studio’s iconic output and aims to meet environmentally responsible standards.

Studio Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki’s animation film studio, will open a theme park on the site of Aichi Expo Memorial Park in Nagakute, Aichi.

Currently under construction and set to open in the autumn of 2022, the park will be divided into five areas based on the studio’s iconic output: Youth Hill, Ghibli Large Warehouse Area, Dondoko Forest, Witch Valley and Mononoke’s Village.

Keeping in line with the ecological diligence of Aichi Expo Memorial Park, for the Studio Ghibli Park construction non of the existing trees will be cut and the park aims to meet environmentally responsible standards that will harmonise the site with nature.

The long-awaited design proposals for the park have now been released via concept art sketches that show off what's in store for the visitors.
