Contemporary art and fashion celebrate the birthday of acid house music and rave culture by commissioning a documentary film entitled “Into a space of love”. The film is produced by Frieze Studios to celebrate the anniversary of the Thirty Years of the “Second Summer of Love”, apex of the wave of the acid house music of 1988-89 in the United Kingdom. To the artists Jeremy Deller, Arthur Jafa and Wu Tsang with the emerging video artist Josh Blaaberg was asked to make a film about those summers, the climax of acid house music in 1989-88, often compared to '68 for how he revolutionized the lifestyle. “Into a Space of Love” explores not only the roots of the phenomenon of house music, but also the impact on our contemporary. The four artists investigate the fertile legacy of dance music scenes and social and political histories behind clubs and cultural raves. The outcome is a documentary of magical realism that explores the bonds between people, house music and underground culture. The film is shown on May 4 in the Frieze spaces in New York (Frieze New York's Talk Space).
