Versus collection

Monterrey-based designer Jorge Diego Etienne released a vase collection that juxtaposes geometrical shapes and materials, cylinders and cones, marble and sanded metal.

Mexican designer Jorge Diego Etienne released Versus, a collection of geometrical flower vases that juxtaposes materials and colours. A cone metal shape in sanded colours fits into a cylindrical marble base that gives stability.

Marble is hand-sculpted by skilled artisans and put in contrast with aluminum, which is transformed through CNC machining and colored by anodizing. The collection suggests a reflection of our own physical experience with these materials in a balance of colors, light and shade. Thin is in contrast with heavy, past versus future, soft versus hard, cold versus warm. Marble comes in natural white or black, while the metallic cone is available in red, gold and green.
