“I chose the name at the end of the project” explains Charpin. “All the patterns are based on fragments of designs from a few years ago that have been reworked. What is more the designs set into the forms are fragments of images of stone that Piemme use for making large tiles that imitate other materials such as marble and stone. The patterns on the tiles were started last year with a design by Gordon Guillaumier and there will be another collection after mine. So we can think of it as a fragment of the company’s history”.
