The Green Embassy

The temporary pavilion by Steffen Impgaard in Aarhus is an architectural framework and venue in the urban space that hosts the project Taste, helping citizens to get started to grow.

The Green Embassy is intended as an architectural framework and venue in urban space, to increase the visibility and accessibility of the project Taste Aarhus, which creates opportunities for citizens to get started to grow, even if they do not have a garden. The Green Embassy is to act as an open, dynamic and creative workshop for citizens and stakeholders while being headquarter to the team behind the taste of Aarhus.

The pavilion one rethought use of nature’s willow, which in interaction with the urban context and other more high tech building materials such as ETFE, underlines the capabilities of nature’s building blocks. The design filters the light and creates a lively, changing play of light and shadow which, in interaction with wood creates a warm ambience. With the natural values at the site and the surroundings, the pavilion appears strong and recognizable among the other grandiloquent buildings at the plaza.
