Graphic art at Z33

Z33 hosts two exhibition which speak of the love for graphic art as well as the fondness both Geoffrey Brusatto and Freek Lomme share for the materiality and tactility of printed matter.

With “Ways of Folding. Reconstructing the printed book”, Z33 welcomes the first public presentation of the doctoral research in the arts of graphic designer Geoffrey Brusatto.

At the same time “Can you feel it? Tactility and/in print” opens, which is the second curator project on graphic arts and print that Z33 launches in collaboration with the Frans Masereel Centrum with as curator Freek Lomme, writer and director of art institute and publishing house Onomatopee in Eindhoven.

Both exhibitions acknowledge the value of matter and analogue media in our dematerialised, digital society. A similar awareness is becoming more and more evident in the art and design world. Tactility is reevaluated; there is a growing interest among artists and theorists to investigate the tactile characteristics of graphic and other media. In addition, traditional analogue media are relating increasingly to new digital media and are adapted to the changing practice of transfer of information and use of material.
