Focusing on food and the way of eating in a more luxurious and sensual way, Ido Garini – Studio Appétit, and Studio Lenneke Wispelwey, dutch designer that specializes in ceramics, create a new world of multidisciplinary experience. The project was presented with a unique installation of a 3D painting at the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven.

Presented at the Dutch Design Week, the new project by Studio Appétit and Lenneke Wispelwey is a study of food fetishes, transformed into objects, dishes, recipes and images.

Luscious Food Cravings is a new concept: a study of food fetishes, transformed into objects, dishes, recipes and images. Through interactive research and culinary investigation, this is an exploration of our wildest and most extreme edible desires, not only creating new products, but a new world of ideas, methods, ideals and concepts.
“Inside this world of Luscious Food Cravings we designed new product, starting with a porcelain set of dishes that redefine the way you serve and present food but also the way you eat it. These elements are decorative, yet functional and provide you with not only a visual appeal but an added value of experience”, explains Ido Garini.
The dishes include cones in different sizes, they replace the use of plates and utensils. A small mirror where you can watch yourself eating, as well as practicing seduction (taken from the Eating Reflections concept that was already presented in Domus), a geometric spoon, a cup with a cone inside allowing to serve drinks with an edible element in them, and a dripper – a new shape used for pouring liquids and sauces.
Alongside the porcelain dishes, Studio Appétit and Studio Lenneke Wispelwey designed a new form of chocolate – a dark chocolate cone filled with white chocolate cream and raspberries that you can also put things on its tip.
Apart from the dishes, they designed graphics and patterns for the project that are featured on table textiles and to tie it all together. Offering a recipe book by the studio, exploring the concept of the project and using the different dishes, the first chapter is about seduction.
