A dental clinic inspired by a smile

Well-known for colorful bars and shops, Spanish studio Masquespacio was asked to enliven a dental clinic near Valencia.

Ana Milena Hernández Palacios and Christophe Penasse from studio Masquespacio completed the renovation of a dental clinic in L’Alcudia, Valencia. Taking inspiration from “beautiful smiles” the Spanish duo created a 2,884 wooden-strips sculpture that hangs from the ceiling. The colour palette ranges from tones of white, turquoise, with touches of gold, brown leather and dark blue. The custom-made furniture features organic forms to make patients feel at ease.

“It wasn’t a usual project for us, in which we could add a lot of small decorative details.” Ana Hernández explains. “We decided to center our design on 3 elements: a sculpture that recreates a smile; the use of turquoise green in combination with white walls and ceilings to maintain a clean image and the use of organic forms for the furniture.”
