NFTs coming to Instagram this week

Users will be able to connect third-party wallets directly in the application and there are no costs for sharing. Testing starts this week in the US.

It is Mark Zuckerberg to announce that starting this week Instagram will begin testing Non-Fungible Tokens.

According to what has been revealed, the test will offer the possibility to a small group of creators and collectors in the United States to share on the social network the works made or purchased and that, in addition to being marked by a badge, will be highlighted by the app thanks to a mode with more vivid colors, and with the due details of attribution of the content both to the owner and author.

Users will be able to associate their third-party digital wallets directly in-app, such as MetaMask, Rainbow and Trust, but support for other solutions is expected to be added. At launch, compatible blockchains also include some very popular in the NFT world such as Ethereum and Polygon.

“Soon, we will also launch digital collectables on Facebook and allow people to show and share their NFTs also as AR stickers in Instagram Stories: indeed, we want the benefits of this technology to be available to even more creators and collectors,” explains the Meta team.
