Prix Ars Electronica 2021: open call for the best projects, between creativity and new technologies

Until the 3th of March it’s possible to apply and join the platform that rewards the best innovations in the arts and technology. Up to 10,000 euros per section.

Prix Ars Electronica 2021, the prize born in 1987 for all those projects capable of interweaving design and visual arts with technology, comes back. The initiative, promoted by Ars Electronica Linz Gmbh & Co KG and supported by the City of Linz, Austria, is divided into several categories and offers the coveted Golden Nicas – with a prize pool of up to 10,000 euros per category – and the participation to the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, which this year will take place from 8 to 12 September. 

The sections of the Prix Ars Electronica 2021 are Computer Animation, Artificial Intelligence & Life Art, u19 - create your world (dedicated to children under 14, and young people between 14 and 19 years) and Digital Musics & Sound Art, which for the first time also includes the Isao Tomita Special Prize, nominated to the homonymous pioneer of electronic music who died in 2016. Another novelty is the Ars Electronica Award for Digital Humanity, supplied by the Austrian Federal Ministry of European and International Affairs.
