From 26 October until mid January, Turin attempts to reinforce its image as a “city of culture” with an initiative that has been running for the last five years and which offers a mix of different art forms. From the historic city centre to the outskirts, “Luci d’artista” gives the capital of Piedmont a new look, with fourteen pieces from last year’s show and two new ones, “Cosmometrie” by Mario Airò and “Fontane luminose” by Jan Vercruysse.

The opening of the event also marks the official opening of “Torino contemporanea - Luce e arte”, an event which aims to bring contemporary art to the public and transform everyday places according to the inspiration of artists. Supported by the Città di Torino, the exhibition is curated by Ida Gianelli, director of the Castello di Rivoli - Museo d'arte contemporanea, and Pier Giovanni Castagnoli, director of the Gam-Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea.

Into its second edition is “manifesTo” – thirty artists chosen by Turin galleries will show their work on large scale street hoardings (3 metres by 6).
