Moxy Headquarters is a software design studio placed in a former industrial warehouse in Porto, Portugal. Pablo Pita Arquitectos’ project enhances the existing structure, giving it a new function and leaving many of its original elements visible. These include the steel roof, the installations, the pipes and the windows with metal profiles located above.

At the entrance, a series of narrow, dark spaces characterised by steel-clad elements and anthracite-coloured stairs, leads into a large industrial room: this is the main office, where work stations and multipurpose tables designed for eating, working or relaxing are placed. The addition of a mezzanine, made of steel and glass, creates a second level used as a meeting area. 

A wooden volume is placed under the upper floor, acting as a convivial block that promotes moments of meeting and leisure by incorporating a long seat. The office is completed by an outdoor patio, accessible through a collapsed wall – part of the building’s original state.

Dark grey tones, the most used in the project, contrast with the wood of the ground floor volume and the tables. The studio also creates continuous material dialogues, using galvanised steel, wood, polycarbonate, concrete on floor and walls, metal frames, and maintaining the original stone at the entrance.
