Drawing Award 2015

Vincitrici del Faber-Castell International Drawing Award 2015, le opere di Anastasia Ax sono mostra presso il Neues Museum di Norimberga insieme a quelle dei quattro artisti selezionati.

Il Faber-Castell International Drawing Award 2015, in collaborazione con il Neues Museum di Norimberga, è stato vinto da Anastasia Ax.

I suoi lavori sono in mostra accanto a quelli degli altri quattro artisti nominati in una mostra collettiva presso il Neues Museum di Norimberga, a cura di Melitta Kliege.

Una giuria di esperti internazionali ha scelto Anastasia Ax tra i cinque artisti contemporanei che erano stati proposti. Ax, nata nel 1979 a Stoccolma, vive e lavora tra Atene e Stoccolma. Il suo nome è stato proposto da Daniel Birnbaum, del Moderna Museet di Stoccolma, accanto agli altri candidati: Ed Atkins, Londra, Ulla von Brandenburg, Parigi, Aleksandra Chaushova, Bruxelles, e Julia Haller, Vienna.

Anastasia Ax utilizza carta e inchiostro, materiali tradizionali del disegno, in modo inaspettato e suggestivo. Ax distribuisce questi materiali per creare imponenti opere scultoreee e architettoniche, in cui impegna fisicamente se stessa attraverso la performance. Balle di carta riciclata sono state temporaneamente rimosse dal ciclo economico per fornire il materiale per l’installazione e la performance. In questo modo il suo uso della carta trasforma temporaneamente i rifiuti in una piattaforma sensata. Con molti livelli di referenze, tra action painting e calligrafia, la posizione artistica di Ax apre molte possibilità per il futuro sviluppo del Premio.
