Yves Saint Laurent′s blue villa in Marrakesh is actually not for sale

Near Jardin Majorelle, in the heart of the city, a blue villa – which recalls the colors and the aesthetic of the iconic Villa Oasis – is for sale. The latter has not been put on the market, contrary to what it seemed in recent days.

Designed for the French painter Jacques Majorelle in the 1930s, the Jardin Majorelle villa is a symbol of the ‘Ochre City’ and an essential destination for all Yves Saint Laurent’s admirers. After the death of Majorelle, in fact, the iconic residence was purchased by the French designer and his partner Pierre Bergé, who refurbished its wide botanical garden.

As the famous modernist villa Oasis – surrounded by jasmine and cacti and painted in a bright electric blue, named later “Majorelle blue” – also the near villa is blue. The main house serves several living rooms around a patio and four suites with bathrooms and terraces. There is also a pavilion composed of two suites and a living room, a blu-tiles swimming pool and a deck shaded with jasmines. Many of the tradicional features are preserved, as the terracotta pavers and the ancient zellige tiles.
