A space entirely devoted to architecture is being born — or rather returning — during Design Week 2026. It is the headquarters of the Fondazione dell’Ordine degli Architetti PPC di Milano (Fondazione OAMi), at Via Solferino 19, which from April 20 to 26 will make part of its premises available to registered architects and non-profit organizations to showcase works spanning all scales of design, from architecture to product design.
The open call, running until February 22, invites submissions of projects, prototypes, models, and drawings via a form available on the OAMi website. Selected participants will have access to three exhibition rooms totaling approximately 70 square meters — a free opportunity to present their work to the Fuorisalone audience, which, following the more than 800,000 visitors recorded in recent editions, is expected to be particularly large.
The idea, explains foundation president Jacopo Muzio, is a “return to the future.” On the one hand, it aims to “return to the original spirit of Milan during Fuorisalone,” when the Order of Architects actively took part in the event by opening its spaces. On the other, it seeks to broaden the debate around the new themes shaping architecture: architecture and territory, housing, society and inclusion, climate and sustainability, heritage and memory, internationalization and innovation.
A fresh start for an institution founded in 1998 that has often struggled, over time, to keep pace with change.
