Beginning in 2026, Milan will welcome a new center dedicated to design culture. Located at Via Bramante 29, near the ADI Design Museum and Fabbrica del Vapore, the Rodolfo Dordoni Foundation will be established to celebrate and promote the legacy of the renowned architect and designer, who passed away in 2023. Initiated by his colleague and foundation president Gordon Guillaumier, the project is not merely focused on preserving an extensive and diverse body of work — marked by collaborations with major brands such as Minotti, Roda, Cassina, Cappellini, Molteni&C., and Flos — but aims to celebrate Dordoni’s design ethos and his consistent, rigorous approach to the discipline.
The Foundation is conceived as an active platform for dialogue across generations and disciplines. Alongside the launch of a website and the creation of a digital archive, set to complement a future comprehensive catalogue of Dordoni’s work, the institution will promote workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and financial support initiatives for students and researchers. Steering its cultural direction will be an interdisciplinary Scientific Committee — comprised of Rudi von Wedel, Gabriella Zecca, and Enrico Morteo — tasked with shaping the Foundation’s research strategies and developing international cultural projects in collaboration with the board of directors.
