Esselunga will build a campus dedicated to the well-being of its employees in its headquarters in Limito di Pioltello, where the administrative headquarters and one of the most important logistics and production hubs of the company have been located since 1964.
The project, which will be built on an abandoned industrial area, was entrusted to the SANAA architecture studio of Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa. This choice reflects the importance that Esselunga has always reserved for architecture, in fact, many of its stores were designed by internationally renowned architects like Gio Ponti, Vico Magistretti, Ignazio Gardella and Renzo Piano.

The campus was conceived as a park of approximately 10,500 square meters, which aims to increase the well-being of employees, thanks to a relationship of continuity between architecture and nature. Inside, a 9600 square meter building will house a gym, sports fields, a kindergarten, a multipurpose space, a medical center and a historical archive.
The volume, mainly made up of glass walls, is divided into a ground floor and a basement, while the roof features sinuous shapes, which aim to appreciate the most natural light.
