Lava stone has been present in Art history and Italian architecture for ages, from the old antic city of Pompei trough Napolitanian barocco, to contemporary buildings. In these places, the sober beauty of the lava stone survives history, leaves its print on paving, in old patrician villas, and appears on houses thresholds, as well as in daily uses objects.

Lava stone’s properties justify its permanent interest. Among its qualities lay its hardness, its narrow link with earth and Italian territory, its resistance to high and low temperatures. The will to highlight this little-known material has been the starting point of this project made of elegant and sober lines. This collection unites three items: a daybed, a side table and a mirror.

These limited edition products are built by Italian craftsmen known for their stone- carving skills.
Being able to shape three meters long lava stone blocks makes this material an exceptional product, not over-used in design nowadays. Through these objects, Charlotte intends to combine the raw quality of the material with feminine sensibility and design.
