Space10 presented an art installation in Copenhagen that envisions a future where cities will be self-sustainable, producing high quality food through urban farming.
Space10 and architects Mads-Ulrik Husum and Sine Lindholm co-created a urban farm that is a cross over between art and architecture, exploring how cities can feed themselves through food producing architecture. The installation appeared at the Chart Art Fair in Copenhagen.
With The Growroom, Space10 wants to spark conversations about how we can bring nature back into our cities, grow our own food and tackle the rapidly increasing demand for significantly more food in the future. Filled with herbs, veggies, and edible plants from floor to ceiling, The Growroom is an artistic exploration of the incredible potential of urban farming.
The Growroom envisions a future where there will be much more food growing inside our cities, in complete self sustaining eco systems, that supply with super fresh produce of the highest quality, all year round. Food that is more nutritional and that doesn’t put massive pressure on earth’s supplies of fresh water.
