Molteni Museum

Designed by Jasper Morrison, with the coordinated image by Studio Cerri & Associati, the new museum – through its permanent exhibition – tells us about the company’s history.

The new Molteni Museum showcases 48 iconic products and original prototypes of the Group’s companies: Molteni&C, Dada, Unifor and Citterio.

The Museum is the result of a process of historical recognition, which began with the “80!Molteni” exhibition. This gave rise to the Molteni Archive, a place devoted to the research, preservation and study of the company’s cultural heritage. The 4,500 documents collected (prototypes, paper and photographic materials, interviews and videos) will shortly allow the archive to be available on line to scholars and researchers.

On this occasion the archive presents a number of the cameos in its collection connected with salient aspects of its history, such as the partnership with Aldo Rossi and Luca Meda for the reconstruction of the Carlo Felice theater in Genoa, or its long partnership with Unimark (Bob Noorda, Massimo and Lella Vignelli among the leading figures of the agency), for the design of the company’s coordinated corporate image during the Seventies.
