
Design and ceramics renew a shopping center
FMG Fabbrica Marmi and architect Paolo Gianfrancesco, of THG Arkitektar Studio, have designed the restyling of the third floor of Reykjavik's largest shopping center. Ceramic, the central element of the project, covers floors, walls and furniture with versatile solutions and distinctive character.

In their Passions-wege project the two young designers mathak+mahlknecht are departing a long way from the conventional sofa or chair on four feet.
Instead of thinking about sitting, they reflect on being settled, on what it means in reality to occupy a place and design it according to one’s own needs. Their object made of variable upholstery elements is not only a seating and reclining landscape in form, but also alludes in its aesthetics and colour-play to the image of a (cultivated) landscape.
