A bungalow from the seventies has been transformed by B-architecten into an open space merging new traits and colors with the original character. Located in Bonheiden, a Belgian municipality in Flanders, House VL is a single-level volume of concrete and white bricks with glass openings.  Inside, architects designed a new bathroom and kitchen, while the space has been renovated by adding wooden frames, dark cladding and softly shaped volumes. The original concrete ceiling was left intact and painted white to maintain the identity of the place. In the middle, a block clad in walnut wood houses cupboards and shelves, concealing the bathroom and its sinuous powder-coloured walls. The curved shape of the central element returns in the kitchen, where black veined marble surfaces, brass and wooden details have been used. Green furniture completes the room, while white floor tiles mark out the kitchen corner.
