A poorly kept little secret - "The neighborhood I like best of all," exclaimed Nanni Moretti during his Vespa rides of his film Caro Diario - Garbatella is an area of social housing lots from the 1920s full of authentic Roman character. In one of its most characteristic corners, Studiotamat transforms the spaces of an old bakery into a restaurant, redeeming the years of abandonment with a game of cross-references between color, finishes and hyper-geometry of surfaces and volumes.

Arranged on two levels, one of which is clearly visible from the street thanks to large arched windows, the space preserves some traces of the past, such as the peeling walls, integrating them with a sophisticated color palette developed with the color consultant Sabina Guidotti. Alongside salvaged furniture, the counter is tinged with orange, plum and blue veins, while midnight blue majolica tiles are highlighted by brick-colored joints. A salmon-colored staircase leads to the lower floor, where the room is enriched with new chromatic presences, such as the sugar paper wall or the yellow perforated sheet metal staircase communicating with the street.
