“Runaway to Sport” is the latest Nike collaboration signed this time by Simon Porte Jacquemus, more commonly known simply as Jacquemus. The French designer focused for the project on the sports brand's women’s line, with the aim of celebrating the multidimensionality of contemporary female athletes.
Available for sale from June, the collection brings sport into everyday life and highlights Nike’s future vision of “50 for her” in its 50th anniversary year. “For this collaboration with Nike, I wanted to create a collection that reinterprets women’s sportswear in a minimalist way,” says Simon Porte Jacquemus presenting the collection. “I have always been inspired by vintage ACG garments and NIKE campaigns from the 1990s. With this imagery in mind, we designed women’s sportswear with sensual details and neutral colours, along with my personal interpretation of the Humara, my favourite Nike shoe.”

Two-coloured trainers, tennis skirt, sports polo shirt, dress with graphic details and immaculate bob: combining the technical performance of Nike products with Jacquemus’ creative approach to wearability, the collection redefines summer ready-to-wear. With a fresh, understated point of view, one of the most pop names in French haute couture thus imagines a world in which outdoor activities and sports are mixed in a new, integrated aesthetic.
