The first reusable bottle that you can fold like an origami

The reusable bio-based bottle DiFOLD can be used to its fullest for at least 5 years.

Bulgarian start-up DiFOLD launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds for must-have accessory for all those who always carry a bottle of water with them, but would like to optimize the space in their backpacks and bags.

Its name is DiFOLD Origami Bottle, and it is nothing more than a 750ml bottle with a stainless steel cap that, after being used, can be folded by reducing its size by 80%.

Based on an idea by DiFOLD’s cofounder Petar Zaharinov, this “origami bottle” is made of thermoplastic polymers, can be reused several times without losing its quality, and is recyclable, It differs from a traditional bottle precisely because it can be folded in seconds by simply applying a light pressure on three different points on its surface.

Paying close attention to the sustainability of the materials, the Bulgarian start-up wants to use - in the not-too-distant future - only bio-based materials, and to start a take-back and recycling program for used bottles, so that new ones can be produced.

Designing the origami bottle took a long time, and many prototypes were created before reaching an excellent result in terms of strength and durability: not surprisingly, if used every day, it is expected to last about 5. Currently, Origami Bottle is DiFOLD’s flagship product, and is laying the foundation for creating new folding and space-saving accessories with the same technology.

DiFOLD Origami Bottle is on Kickstarter: the first deliveries should begin in December 2020.
