Art and sushi: watercolours by Amedeo Signoretto

Amidst antique brickwork, a fine wooden ceiling, bamboo and tatami mats, until 10 December Amedeo Signoretto presents the collection of watercolours “Assimilazioni”, a kind of diary composed of delicate lines and subtle colours that the painter kept every day whilst preparing for the Venice Art Biennale.

The refined and minimal setting is the Milanese sushi bar Nami, behind the columns of San Lorenzo. An unusual location for an art exhibition, desired by Signoretto, who lives and works in Chioggia in a workshop facing onto Canal Vena, in order to confront himself with different kind of environment and public with respect to that found in the usual gallery circuit, in the hope of communicating more directly with the viewers of his works.
