In art and in life, where does reality end and fiction begin? Ideal sequel of Post Human which, in 1992, was exploring the new models of human condition in view of the upcoming new century, the show curated by Jeffrey Dietch at the Castello di Rivoli presents the recent generation of artists involved in the creation of new models of contemporary reality that live in the kingdoms of reality and fiction.

The title recalls the famous motto of Mies Van Der Rohe and the rationalist architects to whom artistic form must follow function, and a work would be qualified on the basis of its utility. Today's art is compared to the narrative structures of the show (cinema, television, photography, but also traditional figurative painting and sculpture), a comparison which encourages the artist to create new tales, dramas and fictional persons; other times, the work offers only the outlines of possible narration that the visitor can develop to his/her liking.

In any case, fiction serves artists in giving us a critical representation of the realities which we all live, gathered in its more extraordinary and bizarre aspects as well as in those more understated and common.
The invited artists, who all emerged in the 1990s, lead the public into a dimension situated between the real world and infinite imaginary worlds.

At the Castello di Rivoli (To), until January 27, 2002.
