Sonia Rosso: “Why did I choose Peter Land? “Pink Space” (1995) is a piece of work I often use to represent Peter. They are photographs taken from a video in which he attempts, repeatedly and without success, to be a presenter, likewise in other videos he fails at being a decorator (continues to fall off the ladder) or a cellist (the music keeps flying away). Peter uses theatre to emphasise the impossibility of control and management of things. He explodes every sound conviction and awareness; there is no command in his activity, no professionality and using humour he eliminates notions of identity and subject.”
