The Bregnevegen house, recently completed by Rome-based practice Andrea Ravagnani e David Vecchi is located in Tromsø, northern Norway. It stands on an island at the latitude of the Arctic Circle, so it has been conceived taking into account specific factors such as low temperatures, changing daylight and the beauty of the natural landscape.

Facades are dark and dynamic, balancing order and compositional freedom, a harmonic rhythm expressed through vertical and horizontal openings, with the counterpoint of a circular opening from which natural light floods into the stairwell and entrance. The house, distributed on three levels, hosts a flat on the upper floors, while on the ground floor a small independent flat has been designed. The entrance is set back from the facade, protecting the door and adding movement to the building. 

Inside, on the first level the sleeping area, a fitness room and service spaces are positioned, following a geometric regularity. On the second, an open space with a panoramic view houses the living area, organised around a structural core: a space characterised by a lowering of the roof to the south in order to align with the adjacent house, and by an elongated hexagonal plan in relation to the exterior.
