A small house for two people blends into the Argentine landscape of Mayu Sumaj, a mountain resort bordering the San Antonio River, popular in summer for its seaside attractions and in winter for being a quiet place far from the noise of the city. The residence, designed by Pablo Senmartin Arquitectos, stands on a steep slope – a damp place that allows native trees to grow – and overlooks the stream that connects to the river.   The horizontally developed architecture is elevated using a steel tensile structure that facilitates the flow of air and water in the slope below for optimal ventilation.  The suspension makes the project seem light and weaves that direct relationship between house and tree that is established when the foliage is on the same level as the eye. The home is distributed, occupying one floor, over 50 square metres and an outdoor patio – useful for expanding and integrating the interior space through its 30 square metres. The project is a single living space in which a core of services divides living and sleeping areas. The house is characterised by openings that mark a vertical rhythm to observe different portions of the landscape.
